MCPS Summer RISE 2026 Names Diapers 2 Deposits a Host for Personal Finance and Soft Skills Career Track

ROCKVILLE, MD. May 27, 2026.- Diapers 2 Deposits, Inc. (D2D), an AFC®-led Maryland corporation, will host the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Summer RISE 2026 cohort beginning June 22, 2026, and running through July 24, 2026, a five-week career-based learning experience anchored in personal finance and professional soft skills. MCPS Summer RISE (Reimagining an Innovative Student Experience) places rising MCPS juniors and seniors with businesses, government agencies, higher education institutions, and nonprofit organizations for a minimum of 50 hours of in-person, virtual, or hybrid hands-on training across the five-week program.

What is MCPS Summer RISE 2026, and which organizations host the rising junior and senior cohort?

MCPS Summer RISE 2026 is Montgomery County Public Schools' annual career-based learning program operated out of MCPS Rockville headquarters and delivered through a partnership network of businesses, government agencies, higher education institutions, and nonprofit organizations selected as hosts. The 2026 program runs from June 22 through July 24, 2026, with a minimum of 50 hours of in-person, virtual, or combination experiences and a closing ceremony on July 23, 2026. Diapers 2 Deposits, Inc. (D2D) joins the 2026 host roster alongside other Montgomery County employers across industries that include health care, government services, technology, and the arts. Students placed at D2D will work directly with Founder and Executive Director Whitney Ramirez, AFC®, and the D2D programming team across a rotation drawn from the Money Club, Investor's Club, Entrepreneur's Club, and Millionaire's Club tracks for rising MCPS juniors and seniors.

How does Diapers 2 Deposits structure the personal finance and soft skills track for MCPS Summer RISE 2026 interns?

D2D's Summer RISE 2026 track sequences personal finance and professional soft skills across the program's five weeks using the F.A.S.T. Framework, formally FinancialField Trips® | Applications | Standards | Theory. Interns rotate through four anchor experiences: classroom Applications mirroring real workplace paperwork, FinancialField Trips® that put credit, banking, and earnings concepts into a standards-aligned context, professional communication and meeting coordination exercises drawn from the MCPS Summer RISE host activity list, and capstone presentations that combine personal finance content with workplace-ready soft skills. The track also covers D2D's organizational structure, employer expectations, and the AFC® career pathway, satisfying MCPS Summer RISE 2026 published learning objectives on organizational structures, employer expectations, career options, and professional and transferable technical skills. D2D supports the in-person, virtual, and combination experience options published by MCPS Summer RISE, so interns across the district can participate.

Why pair personal finance with soft skills training for high school interns?

Personal finance and professional soft skills travel together in the workforce that MCPS rising juniors and seniors will enter after graduation. A graduating senior who can read a payslip, negotiate a roommate lease, and manage a paycheck cycle still needs the soft skills to ask for a raise, run a meeting, and draft the email that lands the next opportunity. The MCPS Summer RISE 2026 host learning objectives explicitly call out organizational structures, employer expectations, professional and transferable technical skills, and career options as required outcomes for participating interns. D2D's track delivers both halves in one five-week program rather than splitting them across separate internships, electives, or summer programs. Whitney Ramirez, AFC®, designed the dual track around the moments graduates first encounter in the workforce: pay stubs, credit card offers, salary negotiations, and team meetings where speaking up shapes promotion timing.

“Personal finance teaches the math behind a first paycheck and soft skills teach the conversation that earns the second one, so D2D pairs them on purpose for every rising MCPS junior and senior who walks into Summer RISE 2026,” said Whitney Ramirez, AFC®, Founder and Executive Director of Diapers 2 Deposits, Inc.
